Support other clipboard types like pictures and files

OrangeNote currently only supports multiple text clipboards and clipboard history. This doesn't affect the regular clipboard, of course, but additional clipboard types are a logical direction.

Online storage and synchronization of notes

Keep your notes synchronized with an online account and share them across all of your computers!

    Status: started

Online synchronization is now implemented and is in beta testing. I've decided to make this a "Pro" feature, which is a perk of upgrading to the paid Professional version. As of writing this, it is available for testing in the beta version (i.e. it's not currently a locked feature, but my plan is to make it so after some further testing).

I might employ this method in the future as well: Professional features may debut in free form in beta versions, and as always any users who submit bug reports and/or accepted suggestions will get a free upgrade, so it pays to beta test!

    Import from/export to text files

You can always copy and paste, but having a built-in way to import and export text files would be handy, especially if there were a batch mode to import a whole directory or export a bunch of notes to individual files.

Allow each note to have its own font

Give each note even more personalization by customizing its font compared to other notes.

    Status: under review

This won't be necessary if I decide to implement rich text styling, which naturally supports font customization.

Give Option to Change Backup Location

Not sure where the database is stored. User should have the option (or ability) to control "where" the database file(s) are maintained.

Rich text formatting (bold, italics, etc)

This is something I've been tossing around. I'd like to implement rich text support into notes, but don't want it to detract from the simplicity of a text-only environment. Is formatted text important to you?

minimize the clutter of the note interface

I feel that there is quite a lot of clutter or rather "relatively unneeded elements" floating around in the note inferface. I love how the tray pop-up is, but the window of a note is too "big" and too filled with additional buttons and text that most users will want to remove ... more

Be able to delete or hide help notes

Unless I'm missing something, I would like to be able to delete or at least hide the help notes.

    Improve performance

The first release had a natural focus on getting all the necessary features implemented and working properly, but performance and optimization is important too, so we'll also be spending some time getting things much snappier for future releases.

Drap-n-Drop of an existing entry from ClipBoard history or Frequently used text entry data

I tend to use a set of words a lot in data entry, usually when filling forms, or when typing in an answer to a question repeated so often.
This OrangeNote is a good tool to see clipboard History and create a collection of frequently used strings. Currently it allows to view the Clipboard Manager... more

Such as the ability to define your own colored categories (like help notes).

    Support more than 10 clipkeys

I think ten is pretty handy, but let me know if you want to be able to quickly access more than the ten latest clippings, using 0-9 and then perhaps A, B, C, and so on.

    Support basic Markdown syntax

The basic Markdown syntax can be handy when one is editing notes if you want to keep it simple, for instance for the bigger notes. I feel that this might be handy at times, however, also that there will be times when the normal kind of RTF might be a better option.

Choose which "groups" are displayed in console

I'm planning to add much more customization to the first major update after release (1.1), such as the ability to choose exactly what groups are displayed in the tray popup console, as well as introduce some additional groups like "most popular" and "favorites".

This is the primary bonus of OneNote. Ink recognition is not necessary.
